Amanda is ill which is sad :(
Work is still going well though, we're just had another pratcise meeting and its amazing to see how far its come in three years. From a tiny four room place next to a kebab shop with a few staff to the massive site its now in with all 70 of us :)
Its odd I keep forgetting that not every practise is like FPR and that we are working very much on the cutting edge of orthopedics, I've helped out in lord knows how many Total Hip Replacement ops (probably about 20), seen dogs and cats get new feet, and animals get endoprosthesis's replacing whole diseased bones! :O
The future is looking good, and challenging with big things happening (the TV series will start sometime in the winter I think which will be cool) and we have Royalty comming to officaly open the practise in a few weeks time! (seems that they are interested in what we do too and feel we should be "opened" :D )
Its a bit odd working with an almost entirely female team (two of the surgeons are male, and a few of the interns and kennle staff), the senior nurse described it best as "being David is like being effectively married to 60 woman" (with regards to work demands)
*note the outraged gf noises at this point, having never had it described to her like THAT before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!
**wrestles control of the keyboad back**
Even more exciting this weekend I get to go on a two day physio course for FREE!!! Woot no paying £ 500 for me! :D
Which means more stuff to add to my collection of CPD.

Well its been a while since I updated, like many things to do with computers even LJ falls in and out of interest with me ;)
So work is going well, the split shifts is a pain but working at FP is amazing, I am constantly learning things and being at the cutting edge of veterinary orthopedics means that I can be fairly sure the knowledge I learn is not going to be totaly obsolete when I wake up the next day.
This week marks my first week of properly cycling to work and back again, its a nice ride and keeps me going but the night time cycle can be a little hairy.
Last night there was little visibility and I foolishly went home via the dark isolated bridalway of looming hedges :P
So tonight I came back via the roads..like normal people.
On the way through Godalming I noticed a strange and yet familiar sound over my Ipod (transvision vamp), the sound of claws on stone....I looked around ( I was going at about 15mpg I guess) and there running alongside me was a huuuuuuge Badger!
The roads were empty and there was not another soul in sight, just the badger and me.
I slowed my pace to let it overtake me(if it wanted to) but instead it matched me, and for a good 100yds we were both traverals along the road.
Then it crossed over in front of me and made to head down an alley, as it did so it paused and looked over at me , and we shared a moment that I can only describe as it acknowledging that we were both traverelers at night, on our way home to our dens and loved ones.
It was nice :)

Ok so in the best tradition of post lrp events...
I had a great event which really suprised me as I knew it was going to be quiet for the Tarantulas as we had just finished a major plot arc and were resting. Which I am really glad for, if we had the vast amount of faction plot that the faction plot team usually churn out then we would of had no time to do anything!
Hot:
1:House Rea'Morda: We rock! Had a wonderful time with them all, got to know the newbies better and had some wonderful roleplay moments.
2:Story time: nothing better than a nighttime debrief/story telling :D and such a useful way for us older players and characters to pass on the information..Actually seeing people running across the camp to get into the house tent before the stories start was so warming :)
3:Getting to see Amanda lots.
4:Getting to see Thenni lots ;)
5:Thenni surviving the big ritual and watching her bounce around after actually getting to talk to Entropy and tell him the truth.
6:Being made House weapons master and then getting to command people again! Grrrrrrrrrrr! :D
The WM trials were hillarious with some really great lines like:
"Well Thanos, who would of thought that your ability to tell apart colours would be a deciding factor"
"No that did not hit Thanos it caught his robes...In fact all of those blows caught his robes, even the ones from the werewolf when it was ontop of him" (the joy of briging the judges ).
7: Being in a kick arse ritual and getting everything we wanted.
8: The Akari battle, and being the first Tarantula on the battle to locate the High magic using monsters..ouch...I got dropped within 30 seconds of combat starting thanks to monsters noticing I was commanding people. Even better was the fact that every time I fell I was picked up within seconds by my house or faction!
9: Finding out I was third in command of the Tarantulan forces in the battle.
10:Seeing Gary(Drinin) and Anna again after ten years.
11: Seeing Mark Omerod after ten years.
12: ALL RESPECT TO THOSE POOR STAFFERS WHO HAD TO CLEAN T HE PORTA-LOOS! and the poor guys who ended up covered in excrement when the tank errupted on them.
13:The caves/ritual circle: A lovely set peice, and the Archon was cool...Even if Lor and I could take it in less than ten minutes with only one hand each, and tied together at the wrist.;)
And now for the "Ooooh crystals!" :
1-The end of the cataclysm, that was shit..not shite, not sucky..just shit. Talk about destroying loads of peoples roleplay with what was an ooc thing for someone and not the end of what has been a major plot for the rest of us for three years.
Seriously when the Paladins of Lolths ritual was better and mroe atmospheric than the end of the cataclysm you know something is wrong!.
2:The porta-loos. they were bad BUT I do understand that the LT was left in the lurch , so I dont blame them too much.
3:The Spotlights at the Bar....Wow..Talk about destroying everyones nightsight if they try walking over the bridges or looking towards the marketplace..
4:OOC DRAMA..I wish it would keeps its head out of lrp. Thankfully it did not impact on me really but it did upset other people.
5:Not getting to hang around with the Company or Harts as much as I would of liked.
6:The End of event crystal plot/battle..... Seriously how bad an attempt at forcing pvp was that?
7: The Guys in the wolves with big shields and dressed all in black...Wow someone needs to teach them to fight safely. And to take their hits. It would of been nice for the Refs to have been seen to act on the complaints too. Unless of course I missed something and using shields as weapons as a valid tactic now..Might be fine for riot police but not at lrp..And not when I get hit in the eye, someone gets a bloody nose, and people get hit to the floor and trampled.
When PLAYERS take time out of play to monster and then get beaten and watch other players CHEAT and not take hits and spells and then just to watch them walk away...pffft..

And is how I Want the final battle at the G to be decided :P
Well lrp will soon be upon us, these few months have flown by!
Work is still going well, the team are great and the work is interesting, just need to keep demonstrating how great I am and all is well :)
Have got suckered into another facebook game, though am expecting it to lose its charm in a few days time, much like fluff friends did...and certainly I doubt i will still be playing onec the mechwarrior games are released for FREE :D
Building a farm has a lot less charm than stomping around in a 100ton battlemech. (Though the assault class are not my fav, prefer some of thel ighter ones ;) ).
Am going to see family at the weekend(hopefully) which will be nice, though its a tough call between that and building a lego house..

The vid is quite cool too.
Woot!
Looks like its a total restart set way before the clan wars , so that means we could end up playing the Battle of the Tukyid at some point too!

Well after the murder mystery at the weekend (which was cool) we headed west into Cardiff.
It was hot, very vey hot.
We saw peoples(Rachael,Scav-Dan,Rich/Rath,Leon, ) and had a fun time which rocked, it was really cool to sit around and chat on the monday evening in the pub, even if I did suicidaly eat a giant icecream thing.....:P
Tuesday we went to the beach with Rich/Rath which was nice, would of gone swimming but the tide was in and the water was full of rocks..and as it was a beach I knew nothing about I was quite happy to leave it.
Then Amanda got ill, which sucked :(
Thankfully the AA were able to rescue us and get us home :)
A huge thanks to the Brown household!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys were awesome! and was nice getting to talk to you both a bit more :)

Hot:
-Another lrp event! WOOOOT :D
-Being 4 days long instead of just a weekend! :)
-Getting to hang around with Amanda/Thenni.
-Testing out "tactical diversification" and pwning Akari with my leet skills.
-The general layout of the site, I like it when they move things around as it helps make every new location we are in "IC" seem like a different place.
-Great REF calls and REF/Marshall support. Generely the staffing was all good and polite and appeared to be considered.
Not so Hot:
-No Computers at GOD, made updating characters impossible, and even worse it made checking my characters skills rather hard to do as well :(
-The really cold sunday evening...REALLY REALLY COLD!
-Bad monster/characters... On the Saturaday evening we got jumped by a female critter attacking people with "enchanted crush", she had no idea of her stats other than the damage call and this was made clear when I used up the rest of my days power on smiting her with various effects... I actually had to prompt her to find out if she was "no effecting " it and her responce was "uhm I dont know" and "uhm I think so" "yes"...grrrr.
-Scaling monster encounters... Really they suck. If the players are smashing monster encounters with skills and powers they have bought, then let them! Afterall it will just mean that they will be out of power for the rest of the day. I grow tired of seeing monster encounters becomming immune to spell effects after 2-4 waves. :(

Hmmmmm.
Well Part 1 (I refuse to call them episodes,as they lack the content) was ok, nice start to the program, but it seemed forced at times, and I wont talk about the specifics of what I did not like ;)
Part 2: Was TERRIBLE. Sure a lot of the referencing was kinda fun, seriously I was looking for something else to watch it was so poor...Maybe even Primeval or "UKs got talent".... :(
I hope part three is better...

HAd a fun weekend so far :)
Is really nice to be able to spend entire DAYS with Amanda, makes the weekends nicer :)
Work this week was great, I came home smiling every day and love it all :D
This weekend we have raided waitrose for fantastic reduced curry sauces and spices, they were all 45p or 35p each ,reduced just because they need space I think! :O
We have also been decorating..Well destructoring so far :P
The Dining room is looking good, we have taken off the wallpaper and begun the sanding and filling of holes, one wall is almost ready to be painted. We do have some large areas to replaster but thats no chore really (Well except for the hands...That stuff really dries the skin!).
Right time to make food! :D

Had my third interview today at the vets practice and it was great fun, nothing beyond what I know and all things I can do well :)
Stood in and assisted Noel Fitzpatrick with a couple of consultations and then had an interview with him.
To cut to the end, he offered me the position :D
So I R now Vet nurse! :D
Was a really nice interview, and he explained how I had the right attitude for the job and the right apptitudes too. He also then went on to explain how it would be a good stepping stone for me to take this position as I would then be able to use it to move on and get a veterinary qualification and become a practising Vet!
Was all very affirming and I am still slightly in shock.

Had a great time at the workshop for the murder mystery weekends last night, it really is a job created for lrpers :)
Just have to hope they liked us enough to hire us both.
One of the many highlights was at the end when we were talking to one of the directors and mentioned lrp as previous experience, he grinned and said he used to lrp when he was in Swansea, I mentioned Aber and he asked when....Turned out he is Buckit head Dans cousin! :D
So yeah how cool is that!
The family resemblence was quite strong too.

Had a phone call from the veterinary surgery today regarding the application and interview I have allready done, they would like me to spend four hours next monday working with them as a second interview :)
Hopefully this means I will be able to wow them with my skills and personality and get the job there , I like this idea :)
So far this week has been good, Friday/saturday I found my watch which I thought I had lost, had a cool Valentines day, Had the phone call today for the interview AND have managed to pick up a couple of bikes off of freecycle, so I can actually get to work/come back without having to rely on Amanda and her car :D

Yesterday was a nice day, was woken up by
woodbrook with a lovely card and a rose, so I scampered off to the various places I had concealed the card/rose and gift for her :)
Then after a lovely breakfast we went off to a nice romantic session of KICKBOXING...
It was fun, though not something that I could keep up for to long, some of the basic kicks were really making my weaker knee suffer (using it as a pivot point is never healthy :P ). Still we held our own, I never punched her in the face and was not punched back so all was good :D
After kickboxing we got back, had some dinner and then went to work getting the trench dug for our beans/peas, before heading in to make tea.
woodbrook made a splendid caserole, and I made the dessert which also was awesome and wonderful :D
I then made it winter in the back garden, and we would of had dessert out there in the snow, but it was tooooooooooo cold. so I showed her what it was like before we scampered back inside :)
so it was a fantastic day of romance and niceness , I am Vhappy :D
------
This morning I ache :(
I also have a free trial of Everquest 2, sent to me by Adrian(Yaskel)..It looks quite pretty now that I have turned most the graphics options up, instead of the noob settings it starts with.
Need to get food.

Well as most of you are probably aware, it snowed today!!!
Which is cool :)
It was so fantastic walking around seeing everyones happy faces as they took a day from their lives to just enjoy themselves :)
We wandered around a bit, taking pictures and just having fun before hitting the gym for more fitness making.
Tomorrow we need to make a snowman...There will be snow sculpting!!!11!!!11!
